Yesterday's Shopping Trip

We went shopping yesterday, to Walmart, the Mall, and Hannaford.
In Walmart I bought my self an exercise ball, mat and a simple DVD. I
am determined to regain my body back as much as I can the longer the
new meds are helping me feel better.

The big deal of the day is (DRUM ROLL PLEASE) I walked the entire mall
without my crutch. WOO HOO WOOHOO I have not been able to do that in
a very long time. The most I did was hang onto Rob's arm now and them
for a little extra support and balance. And I bought shoes, real
shoes, one pair has a chunk heal on them. Let's see how well I wear
them eventually. Even if I can get them through church, it will feel
great!

Hannaford was groceries, boring, by then I was getting tired. I pushed
a cart around for support and made it through okay. But was happy to
see the car when we were done.

That was my exciting shopping trip for yesterday. I hope they keep
going this well.

The Sweater

Tabitha and her best friend received matching sweaters for Christmas
from my parents. They love them very much. Tabitha spent the night
at her friend's house last night and were going shopping today for
her friend's birthday. They were going to wear their matching
sweaters. Tabitha did not bring her with her. So all of a sudden at
10:45am Tabitha comes blasting into the house.

Tabitha: "Where is my sweater from Christmas?"
Me: "How should I know, it is your sweater."
Tabitha: :"Ahhhh! Help me find it!"
Me: "Do I have to say again, if you put it away you would know where
it is?"
Tabitha: "I can't find it!!!!"
Me: "Keep looking, it's somewhere."
Tabitha: "I found it, I found it!! In the computer room!!"
Me: "Oh, of course, where I keep my clothes too."
Me: "Goodbye, Tabitha, have fun."
Tabitha: "Bye!!"

Back out to her friend's mom's car carrying her prized sweater. I
wish her mom lots of luck. Good thing Tabitha's head is attached well.

Home again, Home again, Home

Yes, we are home again. All the toys are home. Even put together.
The children are suppose to clean today as we are having company
tonight. A very difficult job for them indeed. Even if the house
isn't that bad.
My dad is home from the hospital and doing much better. He was very
tired by the time we left on Tuesday. But Christmas was happy and
blessed to have him out the hospital and home again. I hope everyone
else had a happy one.

Here We come Grandma and Grandpa!!

Well, we are getting ready to go for a few days. I am sure we will be back with a van load of lovely new toys that the kids can't wait to get at. That I have no clue where to store yet. But that is Christmas for children. Happy toys. Going to Church for Children's Chroir, and sharing dinner with family. This year again we give many thanks for my dad who was just released from the hospital again yesterday. The angels were busy bringing those prayers straight to God.

Everyone have a Peacefully Joyous Christmas!!

If days are too busy and you can't think of what to write, just blog some pictures of the kids to get you by.

My kids are too technical

My wonderful husband is the Technical Coordinator at a nearby
school. Due to this position we seem to need to have a lot of techy
gadgets in our house. Now my children are 10 1/2, 6 1/2, and 3, this
gray and gloomy afternoon ALL three of them were fighting over using
Momma's computer. "But, Momma's computer plays the better games,
Momma's computer does things faster, Momma's computer blah, blah,
blah..." I say, "You kids have YOUR OWN computer, someone can use
that as well." But, oh no. "Tabitha, you have YOUR OWN laptop!, go
online and play some games." But, oh no. Our house has high speed
wireless, you think someone could be happy. Now, my 3 year old can't
figure out the potty, but even she can't have the slow computer.
Finally, Dad stepped in and no one used the computers, but they all
helped cook dinner and Momma got to take a little rest and when I got
up the computer was free for me to use.

Dad brings A Twisted Christmas in our home

When a Twisted Christmas by Twisted Sister has entered your home, not even the children can help but do air guitar. My tween was not sure what to make of it. I guess Christmas in heavy metal is an acquired taste to say the very least. Though she did the most wonderful air guitar right into a basket of laundry. The boy came in and right away the arms are swinging, so it must just be natural.

After my husband showed them the original Twisted Sister video, the oldest came out shouting, "Mom, I'm going to have nightmares!" The boy just watched away, along with a bunch of other old videos dad found for him. Now he has a bunch of new songs to add to his shuffle. That can be dad's job tomorrow.
I was beginning to think it was not going to happen. Today if the children clean the living room we will put up the tree and decorate it. It has been such a busy December, I don't even know where it went. Christmas is almost here. Sunday is Gaudette Sunday Already!!! Well, their will be happy, joyful children in this home today. And probably one slightly frustrated dad, but what would tree day be without it all?

Music to sooth the savage beast

A new favorite album of mine is Faithful & True by Justin and Hope Scheiner. I saw this for the first time on the Danielle Bean Blog, so I thought I would check it out. It is a great mix of folk and bluegrass by a couple of Catholic parents with none of that in your face Christian music. It reminds me a lot of some of Jack Johnson's songs, especially those from Sing-A-Longs & Lullabies for the Film Curious George

Flu shots are in...Woo Hoo

Finally, Our GP has gotten their adolescent flu shots in. So, this
afternoon after I find out when my oldest gets back from a field trip
I will pick them up and bring the youngest and we will be off to the
doctor for our flu shots. I almost was beginning to think we would
get them for that nasty summer flu season. I am going to try to get
mine as well. I have been waiting for all of us together. Since we
have asthma and my MCTD and other problems we have seen our flu shot
as a big benefit in the winter months.

Good Luck to us today...I am taking them alone. But with a bribe, if
they are good, they won't have to go back to school for the rest of
the day. Maybe even a trip to the dollar store, if I can find some
money.

Down Chimneys, Kissing Santa, Wooden Soldier, and Sing, Sing, Sing

This has been our busy week. Dancing and singing with the Christmas
spirit. Mom dressing and doing hair and haircuts and makeup and
on and on. Having a tween is a lot of work, she wants to be
beautiful for everything. and the other two need help preparing or
who knows what they would look like. Even if dad forgot to tell him
to change his pants before school concert night But all is well and smiles galore.
Who could not love the sight of a three year old rubbing her tummy to Santa
loving his cookies and milk? Or eyes well up to a wooden soldier so straight
and tall and knew all his steps. Then the tween girl who was a beauty on stage
with smiles and ease in her performance, knowing the stage and loving it.
There was also her clarinet performance, the first time for the band. Slow and
sqeaky they may be, but they worked hard and the audience couldn't be prouder.
Well, accept for our Chloe who held her hands over her ears the whole time they
play. "It too loud." But no one else was listening.

Sick Dog and Boy's Ears

Waking up to a sick dog, yuck. Poor little doggie, 9 year old Bichon-Poo named Zoe. Having to take care of her, the other dog, 2 cats, and the 3 year old. Let the neighbor take the other dog, incase Zoe was contagious. They love our Beagle anyway and take her all the time.

Then I have to pick the 6 year old up from school and go the Ent's to have those ears looked at again. Now the second set of tubes are coming out in April. That left one still isn't healing, but will be fine until then. Now we will just wait to see if I will be.
